Stanley

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalm 139:14

STANLEY-

Before I left on this mission, one of the little kiddos at church asked if I would assist her with a project for school by taking along a companion named Flat Stanley.  My job was simply to let him tag along, and take a few pictures that would help her to learn more about the places I would be visiting.   Last night, as I packed him up for our trip, I was pleased to see that he fit perfectly in my special travel hip pack.  (Not your ordinary fanny pack, this thing has rfid protection and is pick pocket safe so stop laughing!)

Stanley is very secure in his high security home.  He was just the perfect size and was designed for the purpose of traveling. Being flat really helps. I can envision little Emmakai carefully cutting him out and deciding what clothes he should wear. He is very stylishly dressed I must add.  He is even laminated  because it rains quite a bit in Cambodia.  He is prepared for anything.

The kingdom of Heaven is a bit like Stanley.

We were all created for a unique purpose.  We are clothed in perfect robes of righteousness. Our creator God knows every danger in our futures and we are perfectly equipped to fulfill His purposes.  Just like Stanley was entrusted to me on this journey so that I could watch over him, guide him and direct him, we have the Holy Spirit who is our comforter and guide.

This is the truth I cling to as I give my sweet husband one last kiss and head past airport security with only Stanley as my companion. It is hard to leave but I am confident that I was uniquely created for this journey.  I can just imagine the LORD, knowing the things I would face in my lifetime, taking great care to get every little detail correct as he made me. This brings me great comfort.

Jeremiah 1:5 says that before God formed you in the womb, he knew you and before you came out of the womb, he set you apart and ordained you.  Consider this.

Before there was even one cell in your body, God knew exactly who you are.

You were His inspiration. He then knit you together in your mother’s womb according to His inspired plan.   As you head out to face your day remember, you are fearfully made WONDERFUL.  You fit perfectly in the kingdom of GOD and you are equipped with everything you need to live out your God inspired destiny.

Looking forward,

Julie & Stanley
