There Is Favor On Forward

Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you.

Proverbs 4:25

As this year begins, the Lord has impressed upon my heart that He is releasing His favor on FORWARD.

I love this word. Who doesn't want to move forward, right?

Let’s go 2022!

Not so fast.

As I process this. It is becoming apparent that committing myself to forward progress will create a tension in my life as I make decisions about my calendar, my activities, my commitments and dare I say, my relationships. (Gulp)

The truth is that not every good thing moves us forward.

God is not simply giving me the green light to storm the gates of 2022. He is asking me to thoughtfully commit myself to move forward, specifically in areas that are aligned with His purposes for me and for His Kingdom. That kind of FORWARD requires attention, consideration and a good degree of self control.

If I am to keep my eyes fixed on God’s directed FORWARD. I may need to eliminate things that war against that progress. That can be difficult, especially if those things are not inherently bad…maybe even good.

I am not gonna lie, I had to think about this a little bit. So, for the sake of being intentional…

Here are three things I am committing to as I take my next steps forward in 2022.

1) ASK FIRST.

“Does this move me forward?”  The asking isn’t hard. The response to the “no” is another story. My mind immediately jumps to the million-dollar question, “Who am I going to disappoint?” This is followed closely by, “What am I going to miss.” Can you say, FOMO?

There is no getting around it. I am going to disappoint people and I am going to miss out on some good things as I choose to focus on the God-inspired forward paths he has revealed to my heart.

2) VALUE GOD’S “FORWARD” IN MY LIFE.

Ultimately, I know in my heart, I want the future God wants. I just have to want it enough to place it in the highest position of value in my life. Are my eyes fixed on His FORWARD? Am I captivated by it enough to sacrifice for it?

3) STEP INTO IMPOSSIBLE THINGS.

My YES to this WORD requires me to move. Go to a place I have never been before. Leave the comfort zone. Face giants.

This is exactly where the favor lies in this season, not just for me but for all that are called according to His purpose. God has placed his favor upon the unimaginable, the unthinkable, and the unmistakable glory filled journey of 2022.

Grab onto this WORD if it resounds in your heart. You can do that.

Ask God for the impossible FORWARDS in your life. Fix your eyes on Him and take your next step.

Looking forward,

Pastor Julie
